Company’s first product specifically formulated for skin exposed to radiation.
Denver, CO… After 10 years and over $10 million of research at the University of Colorado, funded by the National Institutes of Health, ProTechSure Scientific, Inc. will introduce DIFINSA53™ Skin Protectant Lotion at the 2015 Annual Convention of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) in San Antonio, TX.
DIFINSA53™ Skin Protectant Lotion is the result of research and development conducted by a multidisciplinary team of scientists and doctors of oncology, dermatology and pharmacology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center.
DIFINSA53™ lotion contains ingredients that are supported by over 40 scientific publications. As an over-the-counter medication, the lotion’s natural botanical ingredients penetrate the surface of the skin via state-of-the-art micro technology. The active skin protectant in DIFINSA53™ lotion is a silicone fluid called dimethicone 1%. Widely used in cosmetics, dimethicone is generally regarded as safe by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and is clinically-proven to be non-irritating to the skin1,2,3.
Specifically formulated for skin exposed to radiation, DIFINSA53™ Skin Protectant Lotion temporarily protects and relieves chafed, chapped or cracked skin, and promotes patient compliance during radiation therapy. DIFINSA53™ lotion calms, soothes and hydrates the skin with a non-greasy, fast absorbing formula that exhibits a light, pleasant aroma.
In support of the product’s introduction, an off-the-shelf professional program includes a counter top display to help dispense sample tubes of Difinsa™53 lotion in the doctor’s office, along with Brief Directions for Use, patient brochures and downloadable instructions, located on the product’s website: www.difinsa53.com.
